On November 14th, 2014 the HS Group added another Minibulker to their fleet: The KARINA is a multi purpose general cargo ship, a so called “Bodewes Trader 5400”, equipped for the carriage of containers, bulk cargoes and general cargo and was built according to the plans of the Dutch Bodewes Group, Hoogezand/NL.
The vessel was built in 2012 and has a cargo capacity of about 5.400 tdw. For the trading in ice-bound areas, the bow has been strengthend in accordance with the Finnish Ice Class 1B.
The fuel efficient main engine Type MAK 6M25 has 1980 kw. In accordance with her design, the main trading area of the KARINA will be the full European waters.
